Objectives

  • Understand the regulations governing fluids.

Program:

Theory:

  • Regulations regarding refrigerants.
  • The environmental impact of refrigerants.
  • Be familiar with the safety rules regarding refrigerants.
  • Understand how air conditioning systems work in passenger cars, industrial vehicles, and commercial vehicles…
  • Identify the components of an air conditioning system.
  • To manage refrigerants in an environmentally responsible manner.

Practical information:

  • Detect leaks using an electronic leak detector.
  • Detect leaks using a fluorescent tracer.
  • Check the electrical system of an air conditioning unit.
  • Perform maintenance on a circuit using the charging station.
  • Top up a vehicle's charge.

Assessment Criteria

Skills assessed:

  • Understanding the environmental impacts of refrigerants.
  • Skills and knowledge required to service onboard air conditioning systems.
  • Implementation of methods and procedures for conducting leak tests.
  • The program assesses the competencies specified in the decree of October 13, 2008.
  • Passing the aptitude test is mandatory as of July 4, 2011.
  • The certificate of proficiency will be issued if the candidate passes both assessments.

Target Audience & Prerequisites

  • Experienced individuals who do not hold a certification in refrigerant handling.
  • Someone working in the automotive industry (air conditioning).
  • A person responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment, provided that such work involves working on a system containing refrigerants.
  • Professional working in the automotive industry (air conditioning).

  • Professionals with solid knowledge who have preferably completed the prerequisite training.

Duration and cost of the training

  • Duration: 2-hour exam

– A 90-minute practical assessment.

– A 30-minute written exam.
