Next dates are being scheduled — contact us to be notified as soon as registration opens.

🎯 Objectives and context

Anyone carrying out operations on or near electrical installations must be authorised by their employer (French Labour Code, art. R. 4544-9 et seq.). Our courses prepare your staff to work safely on low voltage in accordance with standard NF C 18-510, and on electric and hybrid vehicles under NF C 18-550 (B2VL).

At the end of the course, the trainer issues an opinion for each symbol; the employer then issues the electrical clearance. Initial and refresher courses, on our technical platforms.

📋 Target audience & Prerequisites

B0, BS, BE Switching: non-electrical staff (cleaning, maintenance and production staff, heating engineers, plumbers…). No electrical knowledge is required for B0; for BS and BE Switching, being able to carry out simple operations (replacing a fuse, resetting, like-for-like connection).

B1, B1V, B2, B2V, B2V Test, BC, BR, BE Measurement, BE Inspection, BE Testing: electrical staff with electrical skills (training or experience) relevant to the operations concerned.

B2VL: staff working on electric or hybrid vehicles, with knowledge of automotive electrics.

Refresher: holding a clearance for the symbols concerned.

Command of French sufficient to understand safety instructions. Medical fitness is the employer’s responsibility.

🚪 Access conditions

EMPLOYEE / COMPANY: registration by the employer, inter-company or in-company sessions (dedicated groups), at the school, on our technical platforms.

JOBSEEKER: after an interview and review of funding options.

Session calendar and lead time: please contact us. A preliminary assessment allows us to adapt the course and the symbols.

Face-to-face training, accessible to people with disabilities after a personalised review of the necessary adjustments.

📚 Programme

Common core: basic electricity, effects of current on the human body, electrical risk analysis, voltage ranges and environment zones, clearance roles and levels (NF C 18-510), personal and collective protective equipment, what to do in the event of an electrical accident or fire.

Depending on the symbols: lockout and release, verification of absence of voltage, de-energised work and work in the vicinity, general and basic interventions, switching operations, measurements, inspections and tests, written documents (lockout certificate, work permit, end-of-work notice…). B2VL: architecture and hazards of electric and hybrid vehicles, making the vehicle safe and lockout, specific PPE.

Practical exercises on training installations and equipment for each symbol.

🔧 Teaching and technical resources

Courses held at the school, on the electrical technical platforms (LV cabinets and switchboards, measurement benches, measuring and voltage-testing devices, personal and collective protective equipment) and, for B2VL, on vehicles of the automotive workshop. A mix of theory, case studies and practical exercises. Course materials provided to trainees.

⏱️ Duration and cost

Reference: 1 day = 7 hours. The durations given in the programme are teaching guidelines: they are adapted to the operations concerned, the participants’ level and the combination of symbols.

Examples of combined courses:

Combined courseIndicative initialIndicative refresher
B0 – H0 – H0V exécutant1 day1 day
BS – BE Manœuvre2 days1.5 days
B1 – B1V – B2 – B2V3 days1.5 days
B1V – B2V – BR – BC3 to 4 days1.5 to 2 days
B2V – BC – BR – BE EssaiAbout 4 days1.5 to 2 days

H0 and H0V relate to high voltage; they are often combined with B0 for non-electrical staff.

Price on quotation, depending on group size and symbols — please contact us.

Possible funding: skills development plan, OPCO.

👷 For which jobs?

Electricians, electrical technicians, industrial or building maintenance technicians, heating and refrigeration engineers, cleaning and production staff, automotive mechanics and technicians (B2VL), site supervisors.

✅ Assessment methods

Theoretical assessment (questionnaire) and practical assessment (practical exercise) for each symbol, in accordance with NF C 18-510 (NF C 18-550 for B2VL).

A certificate of attendance and a post-training opinion are sent to the employer.

🏆 How the clearance is obtained

The electrical clearance is issued and signed by the employer, based on the trainer’s opinion. The trainer provides the training and assessments.

Refresher: recommended about every 3 years, to be adapted to the activity and risk exposure. A regular (e.g. annual) review of whether the clearance matches the tasks actually performed is recommended.

These courses do not lead to a qualification registered in the RNCP.

🔗 Links with other professional qualifications

Electrical clearances are also prepared within our diploma courses: Vocational Bac MELEC and MEE, BTS Electrical Engineering, BTS Systems Maintenance, Professional Titles (TMECC, TIFCC, TMI, TSMI…). B2VL complements the vehicle maintenance courses (CAP, Vocational Bac, BTS).
